Releases for January 2018

January 2018 was a fairly busy month, with two chapter books, one short story, one novella, and one young adult novel released during the month.

And two of February's three planned releases were also prepared and uploaded for pre-order.

NEW RELEASE: Reluctant Liaison

C.M. Simpson's urban fantasy short story, Reluctant Liaison, has just released and will return to the usual price of 2.99, shortly. It is available on Smashwords, Amazon, and DriveThruFiction, and is available via Draft2Digital distribution.

This short story is set in the world of pixie-dust drug smugglers, and the Paranormal Operations Squad, and will release on Friday, February 2, 2018.

The Queen's Game by C.M. Simpson is our first release for 2018. This dark, urban-fantasy short story is set in the Troll-Hunter universe and is now available from Smashwords (all formats), Amazon (Kindle) and DriveThruFiction (PDF) and via Smashwords and Draft2Digital distribution.

Today, we released, Shades of Memory, the first book in a new series by C.M. Simpson. This dark urban fantasy-thriller series features werewolves, shadow mages, international spies, and international intrigue. Shades of Memory is set in Canberra as painter Agatha Dormain, and ex-archaeologist and paleontologist turned private investigator, Tamerlane Docherty, seek to uncover the secrets buried beneath Mount Ainslie.

When Aggie Dormain arrives in Canberra to paint some old diggers, she does not expect to meet an out-of-work archaeologist investigating an alien conspiracy, much less to be pulled into an adventure that would give Indiana Jones a run for his money.

JUST RELEASED: C.M. Simpson: Short Work from 2014, Volume 3 – Fantasy and Urban Fantasy

The third volume of C.M. Simpson’s 2014 collection of short works has finally been released. You can find it on Smashwords, Amazon, DriveThruFiction, CreateSpace and via Draft2Digital distribution. This one contains on all the fantasy and urban fantasy poetry, flash fiction and short stories published in 2014.

A collection of flash fiction, short stories, poems and essays where the genres of fantasy and urban fantasy explore depression, fear, facing the unexpected, and working through difficult situations. It is of adapting to a changing world, to dealing with fear, and about exploring a world where trolls, pixies, unicorns and fairies might be real. This collection is about the myths of the world, the fairytale world, the never was, and might have been.

The cover for June's third release has been approved. Just a Dinosaur is a dark urban-fantasy short story set in the Australian bush. Its themes include stepping out of bounds, updating legends, and challenging pre-conceived ideas.

NEW RELEASE: A Matter of Justice

C.M. Simpson's dark urban fantasy short story, A Matter of Justice, is now available for download on Smashwords, Amazon, and DriveThruFiction.

When the plane carrying P.O.S. Officer Schaeffer goes down, it’s no accident. She and her partner lose the prisoner they’re escorting to trial, and the local elves nearly lose their lives protecting the unicorns and a grove of dryads.
