NEW RELEASE: Shades of Memory by C.M. Simpson

Today, we released, Shades of Memory, the first book in a new series by C.M. Simpson. This dark urban fantasy-thriller series features werewolves, shadow mages, international spies, and international intrigue. Shades of Memory is set in Canberra as painter Agatha Dormain, and ex-archaeologist and paleontologist turned private investigator, Tamerlane Docherty, seek to uncover the secrets buried beneath Mount Ainslie.

When Aggie Dormain arrives in Canberra to paint some old diggers, she does not expect to meet an out-of-work archaeologist investigating an alien conspiracy, much less to be pulled into an adventure that would give Indiana Jones a run for his money.

Continuing our break from science fiction of the space opera kind, we are pleased to announce that C.M. Simpson's novella-length steampunk short story, Rendezvous at Raptor's Rest, is now available for pre-order from Smashwords.

When his flying ship, the Red Horizon, was shot down, Tescher told no-one he had a woman on board. Three years later, he returns to the ship wreck and finds Marianna not only survived the crash, but left him a message. She found what she was looking for aboard his ship, and she’ll wait for him at the Raptor’s Rest, but once a year—tonight. Tight flying will get him there in time, but it will take more for him to navigate clear of the underworld predators circling the criminal shores on which Marianna has landed.

 

Rendezvous at Raptor’s Rest is set in the steampunk world of 1840’s Australia, complete with flying ships, landed gentry, velociraptors and those who take their tinkering with the ether just a little too far.
